CIOpen Forum: Ask members for answers

What software should one TechRepublic member select for Internet advertising management and billing? If you give us an answer, you may win a $25 gift certificate to Fatbrain.

TechRepublic realizes that while we do the best we can to bring you timely IT and career information, we think our almost 500,000 members—with their knowledge and experience—are our greatest asset.

So we reasoned that when faced with a question we can’t immediately answer, who better to provide a solution than our members?

In our CIOpen Forum, CIORepublic will pose a question every other Monday to our members. For example, we might ask your advice on selecting a software vendor, or we'll ask you the best way of dealing with a management issue. We may also ask you to assess the benefits of adding a new piece of technology.

Each CIOpen Forum will feature both the answer to the previous week’s question and a new question from one of our members.

We’ll select the solution that we think best answers the member’s question. One lucky member will win a $25 gift certificate to Fatbrain.
Do you have a question you’d like to have answered in the CIOpen Forum? If so, then just send us an e-mail, and we’ll do our best to include it in an upcoming CIOpen Forum.
Here’s our first question:
Diane Spino, president of 123 Net Commerce, an Internet consulting company, wants to know what would be the best commercial software to handle Internet advertising management and billing, including third-party billing, for one of her clients.

She wants the system to be capable of serving advertisements according to the visitors’ demographic characteristics, which users provide when they sign up.

While our member would like the software to function like MatchLogic, her client isn’t large enough to qualify for their services. So it has to be able to grow with the business.

The fine print
By submitting your answer, you agree to let TechRepublic publish your solution on its Web site. You also agree that TechRepublic may adapt and edit and authorize the adaptation and editing of each submission as it deems necessary. TechRepublic may publish a submission at its sole discretion.
Do you know of the perfect software to solve Diane’s problem? Post a comment at the bottom of the page or send an e-mail to the CIORepublic editor. All answers must be received no later than Monday, March 27, 2000. If your answer is chosen as the best one, you’ll receive a $25 gift certificate to Fatbrain.
