From the forums: Getting rid of a fatal exception error

Have you or your users been experiencing annoying fatal error messages when printing a Word document? A TechRepublic member posted a solution in this thread from the Windows forum.

Have you ever had a Windows fatal exception error that you just couldn’t figure out? TechRepublic passport owner, Stefanie1067, recently had such a problem. The question was posted with a value of 200 TechPoints in the TechRepublic Forums.

Getting a fatal exception error in many different areas
Stefanie1067 posted the following question in the SupportRepublic’s Windows section: “I get this in all different areas, such as logging on to [the] internet, in my business programs, when I try to print Word documents, etc. It is Fatal Exception in OE @ 0028:C02B0041 in VXD IFSMGR(04) + 00007755. Any suggestions? I have already re-installed a new video driver and dial-up networking.”

Stefanie1067 awarded the 200 TechPoints to TechRepublic passport owner wired_777 who suggested that the problem could be a resource conflict. Wired_777 suggested that Stefanie1067 load Windows into safe mode and check the device manager for items that were duplicated.
