Have you ever needed to get a phone number or manager's name for a coworker... but you were on the road and didn’t know where to start? With Outlook Web Access 2007, this kind of information is right at your fingertips. The OWA 2007 Address Book selector sits right at the top of the main OWA window. You can type a person’s name into the box, or click the book icon to get a list of all users in the organization and search for the person you want.
The resulting information window provides you with full details about the selected user... all right from Active Directory. All of the information you would expect is present, including the person’s address and phone number, but the results also provide some additional information, including the name of the person’s manager, the names of the people that share the same manager as the selected user, and a list of the person’s direct reports. This can be very helpful if you just need to locate someone that can provide an answer in someone’s absence.
Each of the names on screen are clickable. Click a name to bring up details for that user. You can also click the Map This Address option to run the address through Microsoft’s Live mapping service.
