Get a chance at a resume makeover

Do you have a feeling that your resume is not up to par? Here's a chance to get a free resume makeover from the pros.

There are so many do's and don'ts out there for doing a resume that sometimes it seems like an exact science. And if you're like me, it helps to see a before and after version of something to really understand how to fix it.

As a service to TechRepublic members, I've asked Jennifer Hay of IT Resume Service to lend a hand in this respect. Jennifer, a Certified Business Intelligence Professional and 2011 TORI Award Winner (Technical Category), has agreed to do a free monthly resume makeover for selected members of the TR audience.

If you want to be one of the people whose resumes she fixes, here are the details:

Email me using the Contact button under my picture on the main door of the Career Management blog. Explain some of the details about your experience and background, and I will respond with an email address where you can send your resume.

We will use your resume in an onsite before and after example. We'll blur out your name, contact info, and personal details, but the rest of the resume will be viewable.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Yes you are right! Its seems like an exact science but its not in some cases and every HR Personnel have something different to say about it, sadly, since resumes are a HR subject and in some organizations HR is the department to set standards yet when it comes to resume there are no set rules and in some cases quite frustrating.
