The City of London Corporation has kicked off the hunt for a CIO to run its newly reorganised IT operations.
The City of London Corporation provides local government and policing services to the financial powerhouse that is the Square Mile, as well as running institutions such as Tower Bridge, the Guildhall and the Barbican.
The Corporation said the CIO - on a salary of between £87,030 and £98,540 - will provide direction and leadership to the recently reorganised and unified service information systems division.
The City of London is looking for a CIO with experience of strategic and operational responsibilities, ideally in the context of public service and partner agencies, the organisation said in its job advert: “This is a high-profile role and quite uniquely rewarding,” it added.
The organisation is looking for an executive who can manage and motivate teams, as well as having the ability to work with managed services providers to achieve “significant sustainable service improvements and outstanding results”.
Tech skills are important, but “leadership capabilities, business acumen and strategic perspective” will take precedence, and the corporation is looking for “an exceptional communicator” who will be comfortable as an expert adviser to senior managers.
If you’re interested, you’d better hurry - applications close on 9 November.
