Computers may have changed in 25 years, but salesmen haven't

Computers may get cheaper all the time, but the games that vendors play with prices to attract us never does. Case in point - check out this ad from Kaypro. Computers may have changed in 25 years, but salesmen haven't.

I like to talk about how much things have changed about computers since the old days, but this YouTube video ad shows how little things have changed. Like buying used cars, rarely does an advertised price for a computer match up with what you wind up spending.

The computer in this ad looks like a KayPro II. The ad lists it at $1,295. I don't know the exact date of the ad, but the KayPro II was around in 1982. Adjusted for inflation, that's over $2,900 in today's money.

It better, with the advertised spec, or I will or buy it! Plain and simple.
