An Internet Cafe on Everest? TechRepublic got there first.

News.com reports that you can now check your email at 17,000 ft with China Mobile's new Internet cafe. TechRepublic? Been there. Done that.

News.com has a report about an Internet cafe that has recently opened on Mt. Everest. China Mobile has opened a business office and provides Internet Access on Mount Qomolangma in Tibet.

I just thought that this would be a good time to, in the words of Paul Harvey, re-re-RE-remind everyone that during the almostEverest expedition, TechRepublic editors Mike Jackman and David Bard have hoisted the TechRepublic flag in Tibet already.

So, welcome to the party China Mobile. At least it will make submitting blog posts a bit easier for us when we do almostEverest 2.o.
