This week's quibble comes from the Sept. 30, 2011 edition of Geek Trivia, which asked what English town is infamous for its role in testing early profanity filters?Member Garden Gnome took issue with my characterization of a certain English city as "small"...
Wikipedia (fount of all wisdom and knowledge) (?) estimates the population of Scunthorpe at 74,500 in 2010. That may be a small town in the USA, but certainly isn't here.
I am reminded of that old aphorism: "In US a hundred years is a long time, in the UK a hundred miles is a long way." Scale is an issue of perspective. No offense intended to the English notion of population density. Thanks for the feedback, and keep those quibbles coming!
