Google assimilation pt. 2: The Borg cube

I, Cringley has posted his followup to last week's prediction of a Google-powered parallel darknet

that would multiply the performance of the Internet while

simultaneously making Google the most powerful and indispensible

company in the history of the world.

Apparently, that was only Phase 1.

Phase 2 would involve the distribution of the Google Cube, a universal interface device

that would attach to every bit of electronics in your house,

simultaneously creating the universal home network we've been promised

for 30 years and creating a broadband wireless mesh network that flanks

and replaces every phone, cable, VOIP, and cellular provider in

existence.

I shudder to think what wonders Phase 3 will entail. My money is on something telepathic, or possibly a time machine.
