How does Geoff Peterson compare to other Hollywood robots?

Geoff Peterson, TV show host Craig Ferguson's robot-skeleton sidekick, debuted this week. Let us know how Geoff compares to your favorite robots in TV and film.

Geoff Peterson, TV show host Craig Ferguson's robot-skeleton sidekick, made his official debut earlier this week on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. This video shows Geoff interacting with his creator, MythBusters star Grant Imahara, and Ferguson:

In this episode, Imahara stated he worked on the second-generation R2-D2 and Energizer Bunny when he was employed at Industrial Light & Magic; Ferguson mentioned that he was a fan of the robot in Lost in Space and The Terminator.

All of this bot talk made me wonder what Geekend readers consider their favorite robots from TV and movies, and how you would rate Geoff in this category. To get us started with this geeky discussion, check out this February 2009 CNET video about the coolest movie robots.

The top five robots featured are: (5) Maria from Metropolis, (4) Marvin the paranoid android from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, (3) Robby the Robot from The Forbidden Planet, (2) Johnny-5 from Short Circuit, and (1) R2-D2.

You may also want to watch this March 2009 CNET video about the best TV robots.

The top five TV robots featured are: (5) Rosie the Robot from The Jetsons, (4) Robot from Lost in Space, (3) Cylon from Battlestar Galactica, (2) Bender from Futurama, and (1) Data from Star Trek.

So, what is your favorite robot from TV and/or the movies? (We're grouping robots and androids together here, but you can distinguish between the two in your comments.) Feel free to categorize your picks, such as most formidable, sweetest, most intellectual, creepiest, most likely to give you nightmares, etc. If we have any robot-skeleton army members here, please chime in with your thoughts about Geoff.

It was a toy that played tapes, but it could also talk to you? Okay so maybe it wasn't a full fledged robot, but you must admit it was geeky. :)

There used to be some bootleg tapes that made him tell dirty jokes and sing bawdy songs.
