Meet your destiny with endless burning rage in the Firelands

Are you ready to face Ragnaros and his endless raging fire? Well, you better get ready because Patch 4.2 to the World of Warcraft is coming soon, as this video trailer reveals.

For a massively multiplayer online role playing game, the World of Warcraft is getting a bit long in the tooth. But that doesn't mean it can't excite players with new content from time to time. Very soon, Activision Blizzard will be releasing Patch 4.2: Rage of the Firelands.

This patch will include new raids, new quests, and a quest for legendary gear. There will also be the usual re-balancing of classes for both PVE and PVP players. For the uninitiated, that means players will likely have to adjust how they play their classes because spell and melee attack combinations could be completely different.

Check out the trailer to get a glimpse of what's in store for raiders in the Firelands. Obviously, the key villain in Patch 4.2 is going to be Azeroth's old nemesis - the Firelord, Ragnaros. But the trailer also shows that are going to be numerous sub-bosses to dispatch as you work you way to Ragnaros.

We can start an informal pool: How long before some group defeats Ragnaros? A week? Two weeks? A month?

We could see it as soon as a week, but no shorter I think. Those elite guilds will need to gather some gear off of the earlier bosses, I think, in order to be able to take him down. Patch 4.2 tomorrow, according to the rumor mill - game on!

I think it will be within the first week, all those major guilds will have tried it on PTR.

I say it will take two weeks - week one figuring out the fight mechanics and then a completed raid in week two. What do you think? Quicker?

That sounds about right, but some of the hard core Pac Rim or EU raiding guilds might do it the first week. Never underestimate the power or 10/25 geeks focused on a single goal.
