NASA and Etsy team up to find the best space-related crafts

Check out photos of artwork from the NASA/Etsy Space Craft Contest. The TechRepublic gallery features space-themed stained glass, furniture, jewelry, quilts, and more.

NASA is big on new technology and new media. You can follow NASA on Twitter and Facebook, so it's not too surprising that NASA would team up with Etsy to find the best space-themed arts and crafts. Winners of the NASA/Etsy Space Craft Contest were announced on March 21, 2011 after months of hard work. Prizes included a VIP trip to a NASA space launch, Etsy shopping sprees, and swag from NASA and Etsy.

The competition was fierce. Head over to the TechRepublic gallery NASA/Etsy Space Craft Contest winners and finalists to see photos of some of the entries. To see the complete list of winners and finalists, visit the Space Craft Contest page.

Guess the entrants weren't up to the task of crafting their own light saber... I'll stick with the sonic screwdriver from the BBC store.
