Video: A SOPA/PIPA anthem

Takeaway: If you think the SOPA/PIPA protest movement needs a catchy ditty, check out this video of an anthem about the topic set to the tune of American Pie.

In this video, Chris Parker sings a song about the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act (PIPA) titled “The Day The LOLcats Died.” The song was written by Alexander JL Theoharris and Rob Whitehead, and the video features a cameo by Ben Huh, the CEO and Founder of Cheezburger, among others.

Let us know if you get a kick out of this American Pie reworking, or if you would rather spend your time looking at photos of spelling-challenged kitties or reading news coverage and bloggers’ opinions about SOPA and PIPA.

(Thanks to TechRepublic Senior Editor Selena Frye for the tip about this video on the Paste Magazine site.)
