Filed under Star Wars/Star Trek crossovers: Khan Noonien Singh versus Han Solo. This is one of the better video edit-hacks I've seen in a long time, though I think we all know the Millennium Falcon never would have stood a chance against the U.S.S. Reliant.
- If I'm not mistaken, the editor laid an instrumental disco-rock track by Queen ("Battle Themes," I think) from the Flash Gordon soundtrack over the whole thing, but didn't duck out the James Horner orchestrations from Wrath of Khan. The two don't mix well at all.
- Since the editor couldn't actually splice together a Falcon flyover of the Reliant, he just drops in the Falcon's flyover sound effects and uses a shot of the Enterprise near-missing Khan's ship. Newsflash: YT-1300 Corellian freighters and post-refit Constitution-class starships look almost nothing alike. If you can't do the shot right, don't do it at all. (Heck, YT-1300s look a lot more like Miranda-class vessels than Constitution, though the Defiant class is probably the most visually similar Federation design.)
Other than that, I really enjoyed it. If nothing else, the guy who put this together had a great sense of pacing, unlike most mashup edits, which are overlong and self-indulgent. Despite the implausibility of the fight, the piece hung together really well.
