WebWare’s Rafe Needleman and CNET’s Dan Farber delve into the Flock Web browser and whether it is a useful tool that will find a place in the market. Farber calls it the “Swiss Army Knife” of Web browsers, and Needleman says that he has been using Flock regularly and gives his review of it. The two of them lead off with an interview of Flock CEO Shawn Hardin, and then they talk about their take on Flock and its trajectory.

Bottom line for IT leaders

I have been using Flock as my primary Web browser on Windows XP, Mac OS X, and Windows Vista for over a year, and it has become my Web browser of choice — mainly because it is fast and stable. It is essentially a more polished version of Firefox with some extra tools for multimedia and social networking. It’s a good choice for IT departments to deploy for power users, Web developers, and users who could benefit from the privacy and security features of Firefox but need a browser that is a little more polished and easier to use.
