Interop '07: CMP announces 'Best of Interop' winners

Last night, CMP Technology, which runs Interop, announced the winners of the “Best of Interop” awards for seven different technology categories and also named a grand prize winner: NetXen, which produces next-generation multi-protocol and 10G NICs.

Here is the list of winners from each of the categories, with the name of the winning product in parentheses.

  • Application Networks & Performance: A10 Networks (AX Series)
  • Data Center & Storage: APC- MGE (InfraStruXure InRow RP)
  • Infrastructure: NetXen (NetXen 10G Ethernet Expansion Card)
  • Management, Network Software & Services: Novell (Novell ZENworks Linux Management)
  • Security: Blue Lane (VirtualShield)
  • VoIP & Collaboration: AirMagnet (AirMagnet VoFi Analyzer)
  • Wireless & Mobility: Aruba Networks (Aruba Secure Enterprise Mesh)

“The Best of Interop Awards are always an indicator of the most innovative and exciting offerings in these product categories, and this year’s winners are no exception,” said Art Wittmann, Editor in Chief, Network Computing. “NetXen, Inc. and each of the category winners have truly demonstrated superior technology and innovation, and deserve recognition for their contributions to the industry.”

CMP also presented a special award for “Best Startup” to Aerohive Networks (for the Aerohive HiveAP 20 ag). An analyst tipped me off yesterday about Aerohive as an innovative new WLAN player. I’m hoping to take a look a them today. I’m also meeting with AirMagnet and Xirrus, so I will have an comprehensive update on advances in WLAN technology and management.
