Arguably the hottest topic in IT, Big Data risks being drowned in hype the way “Cloud Computing” was just a few years ago. To help IT leaders sort out the real value, potential, and capabilities of Big Data, we’ve put together a superstar panel of experts to break it down.
The panel is part of our TechLines series from ZDNet and TechRepublic and the event is called “Big Data Debunked — Finding the Data Signals.” It is being held on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. ET at the Jerome L. Greene Performance Space in New York City. It will also be streamed live on ZDNet.
ZDNet Editor in Chief Larry Dignan will serve as the moderator. He said, “We will examine the use cases, challenges in deployment, leading industries, trust issues and return on investment around Big Data.”
The panelists will be (click the names to read profiles of each one):
- Nicholas Skytland of NASA
- Christine Twiford of T-Mobile
- Michael Cavaretta of Ford
- Katrina Montinola of Archimedes
- James Kobielus of IBM
You can join the live discussion on Twitter by following the hashtag #techlines. You can even use the #techlines hashtag to submit questions to the panel. We will be following the Twitter stream throughout the event and passing the best questions to the moderator.
