First native non-Apple iPhone application says: Hello World!

We all knew it would happen. Not "if," but "when." Well, the #iphone-dev team has just successfully compiled the first third-party application for the iPhone.

Obviously, it is only a bare-bones "Hello world" application at the moment. But hey, it's native to the iPhone and incorporates the iPhone's native GUI.

iPhone Hello World

I shall not bore you with all the details of what it all entails. But you can check out the Toolchain Project for the iPhone (pre-Alpha) or the main iPhone Dev Wiki if you like.

if you are an iPhone user, you probably already know the dangerous battery life your phone comes with. In one scenario, the battery went dead on the iPhone and when it was taken to go get fixed, they were charging almost as much as the price for the phone! Luckily these iPhone. http://www.fommy.com/iphone-3g-accessories.htm

I laud apple for creating an amazing phone, but have even more kudos for this guy for doing what they said shouldn't be done. :)
