Geekend: Scandinavian summer lures geeks to cell phone doom

If you've been wondering what to do with all that comp time now that summer is nearing an end, have you considered the Mobile-Phone Throwing World Championships in Savonlinna, Finland? Version 7.0 is nearing its official release at the end of the month, and its popularity is surely growing; over 3,000 spectators dialed in to watch last year's competition.

Plan your flight through Norway, and you can crash at the Oslo IKEA, which offers a no-charge overnight hostel for up to thirty shoppers. It comes complete with meatballs, Norwegian salmon, and cranberry mousse, as IKEA is offering free dinner and breakfast at the usual canteen. What's worthy of shopping at IKEA for? Perhaps a pre-fab apartment building, which the Swedish flat-pack giant has started seeding into the U. K., after completing their beta testing first back at home.

But, back to the subject at hand: Which cell phone would you most like to take to the Mobile Phone Throwing World Championship and not bring home? Or, alternatively, what's your favorite GeekVacation?
