Giant telecom firm Huawei has accused dilatory behavior by governments across the world of delaying the implementation of WiMAX.

According to The Register:

Tan Zhu, director of wireless marketing in Europe, said that governments are delaying granting licenses to deregulate frequencies for the technology. The technology is ready to go, but until the politicos take action, nothing is likely to happen.

... The problem is the lack of efforts to move on issuing licenses. He said: "All governments should make a decision about this.

Tan Zhu also said that it is still too early to know whether 3G or WiMAX would turn out to be the better technology.
