IBM, which unveiled its System S Blade Center for small and medium sized businesses, has now announced a "office ready kit" enclosure that makes the systems easy to install and use.

A quote from the article at InformationWeek

"With its ability to fit into an office as well as its ease of use and installation, this is not a blade system turned on its side or chopped in half to just look like a small business solution," Alex Yost, VP of IBM BladeCenter, said in a statement.

The System S competes against HP's c3000 "Shorty" that is also targeted at SMBs. The Blade Center is to be available by December 2007.

IBM also announced that the Blade Center S is much quieter and comes with air filters for blocking dust (Channel Register). While HP appears to have an edge in the server space for SMBs, IBM is very much up for the challenge.
