This infographic, courtesy of Zone Alarm, details the ever-increasing problem of Identity theft in the United States. Complaints about identify theft to the Federal Trade Commission have tripled over the decade between 2001 and 2011. And for whatever reason, as the graphic shows, Florida leads all other states for the number of complaints.

Hi, I think Florida is a prime target for identity thieves besause of the nimber of retired folks who live there. This group is most likely to be the least tech savvy. Paul

Arizona is also popular with retirees as well as Snowbirds [those from Canada and the snow belt states in the US].

That might not be true, the highest figure for identity theft is aged 20-29. If less tech-savvy, they might not be online. There is insufficient data to reach a conclusion about this.
