Poll: Developers, are you part of your company's sales process?

Are you part of your company's sales process? Answer the poll, and then let us know in the forum what you think about developers participating in the sales process.

Some companies involve their developers in the sales process; it lets them get technical resources face-to-face with customers to learn their needs, explain the technical side of things, and more. The drawback is that developers are not trained salespeople and can sometimes do or say things that are counterproductive to the sales process.

Over the years, I have been in this situation enough times that I feel very comfortable with the sales process, and I believe I have become good at it.

It looks like a good idea to involve developers in sales process to ignite innovation. But companies process would not encourage this.
