If you consider yourself a “heavy” text user, you might be interested to know that cell phone users in China sent 429 billion text messages last year, or the equivalent of 967 text messages per user.
As an aside, India added more mobile subscribers (150 million) in the same year than Britain has in total (70 million), which is just mind-boggling. And yet just 14 percent of the Indian popular have a mobile connection, so we’ve not heard the last of them yet.
The findings were part of the research included in the Ofcom “International Communications Report,” which looked at the $1.78 trillion global television, radio, and telecommunications sector in 2006 to analyze growing trends.
