Well Lads and Lasses,
This box is something a little more special than just another NAS box. I was recently on Netgear training on this box and have one in my own infrastructure and a few with clients and can say this little box has pretty much all the features any small business or Home network can use plus a few more!
Myself and a few other companies here in the UK have been using them in place of Win SBS as the box has so many features including redundancy, FTP, Web Hosting, User and Group level account restrictions, Self Backup including to external site, mirroring to another device, 3 USB Ports, 1 Touch Backup to external USB Drive, Print Server facility, single gigabit on Desktop version and Dual Gigabit on the rackmount and other things that I have yet to utilise myself.
Needless to say the price could be double (like CISCOs) and it would still be worth purchasing. The rumor mill has it that the physical NAS will also be being put on the Netgear Lifetime Warranty (NOT THE DRIVES THOUGH).
This is one box that should be in every sysadmins arsenal of hardware! and I emplore those of you who would normally scoff at a device with this price-tag to read a little more into it
