As for why so many companies are now considering Google Apps, the top reasons we hear are cost and collaboration. Businesses can save a bundle of cash if they switch from Microsoft Exchange/Microsoft Office or from older technologies like Lotus Notes or Novell GroupWise. Of course, they are also switching to a simpler, less feature-rich solution, but some of them don't have a problem with that because they don't use most of the functionality in their current solution. The one big feature that Google Apps adds is better collaboration on business documents, and in some organizations that's a big selling point.
