TechRepublic member cracks open a Solar Ball

When the Solar Ball instruction manual said Ni Cad battery is not replaceable and to throw the thing away when it no longer charges, Hal 9000 decided to crack it open and see for himself.

The following photo gallery and captions were submitted and written by TechRepublic member Hal 9000.

According to Hal 9000, "There are several things in this world that should never be done, but probably the worst is to tell a geek that they cannot do something. Particularly on a play toy that they like."

So, when the Solar Ball instruction manual said Ni Cad battery is not replaceable and to throw the thing away when it no longer charges, he decided to crack it open and see for himself.
