Video: TR Dojo bloopers for 2009

Watch Bill Detwiler, host of TR Dojo, flub his lines, growl at the camera, and contend with countless hallway noises in the 2009 blooper reel.

Another year has passed here at TechRepublic, and we've aired another 52 TR Dojo episodes. And as those of you who hang around until after the credits know, among that nearly 600 GB of footage are a lot of bloopers. Here on TR Dojo, we're again celebrating the holiday season with an episode that's dedicated entirely to me screwing up. You'll see me flub my lines, growl at the camera, and ramble on to no one in particular. Enjoy and Happy Holidays!

If you'd like to see more footage of me screwing up, check out the TR Dojo bloopers for 2008.

Having once been in radio, I can emphasize. I know how easy it is to think of a goof you just made and thereby repeat it over and over. Things have changed. I now never make misteaks.

Very good of you to share these Bill. For several years I did a TV news feature on technology. Before then I could not understand why many bloopers had people repeating the same mistakes or growling at the camera. I also didn't realize how hard it was to pick up and get a running start after a blooper. You can't always start at the top. You have to start in the middle or end or where you are told. You do a great job of recovering and getting it right. And, blessed are the editors. Aren't they amazing how they can take all the clips and make one sequence? Merry Christmas. bye eric CROM Research.

The video made me laugh and brightened up a rather dull day.

Thank you soooooo much for the gift of laughter Bill. Now I do not feel like I am the only one that has trouble speaking when I know what to say but my mouth will not say it. Keep up the good work.

Thank you thank you thank you! I record audio for online training all the time and some of the crazy things that come out of my mouth. But often when things get most stressful to get the project done that's when the silly things come out and you get a good laugh. It breaks the tension and the project just moves along then. Thanks for the good laughs today.

A refreshing laugh at the end of an unpredictable year! An IT guy with a self deprecating sense of humor is rather hard to find these days :) Thanks!

Thanks, Bill. Great stuff. Ever has a blooper on the blooper reel, how cool is that?

Bill, I feel your pain! In my training role I have to often record WeBex sessions but I do it from home so there is nothing like the dog barking, the plane going by, the phone ringing or horn honking just when you are in the middle of the presentation.

Just to see how it comes out. I reckon you're wasted by the scripts - no offence but it's the scripts that cause the bloopers. Thanks for a more than mildly amusing look back on the past year. BTW - "Another year has past here at TechRepublic,.." should've been 'Another year has passed here at TechRepublic,' but since you wrote it I'll let you away with it! ;)

Ah Bill, you make me laugh and realise not to take my job in IT too seriously. Thanks for all your efforts this year mate and I look forward to your episodes each week in 2010. Kindest regards, Mike B

These bloopers are as good as it gets and should be nominated for an award! This edition was pure entertainment. Co-workers are wondering why I was laughing hysterically this morning! Bill Detwiler does an excellent job in the dojo. Keep up the good work!

The time has come oh ninja one, to speak on many things .... of cups and "artitions" and lacktock stickers or cabbages and kings and weather the see is foiling bot, or wonkies have there dings. ;) grammar intentionally re-repeated ;) and now I'm starting to hear a few bars of "My Favorite Things" bouncing round my orb. Lacktocks with stickers and boots with fartitions, Planes and toot toot trains with noisy emitions, bill's tongue's all tied up with bit bytes and strings, these are a few of our favorite things... oh dog, help me... someone please.. help me! FYI, for the twisted of us, an alternative and highly x-rated "favorite things" here on youtube, by Stuckey & Murray
