Poll Results: Is the beta Internet Explorer 9 as bad as I think it is?

Takeaway: See how your TechRepublic peers answered this question: Is the beta Internet Explorer 9 as bad as I think it is?

On January 28, 2011, I asked the readers of the TechRepublic Microsoft Windows Blog this poll question:

Is the beta Internet Explorer 9 as bad as I think it is?

Now, I realize that is a leading question, but I really wanted to know if I was off base concerning the beta version of Internet Explorer 9.

I don’t like the new layout of IE9, I don’t like that the favorites menu is now hidden by default, I don’t like the assumption that I have installed add-ons and toolbars that I don’t want, and I don’t like that the tabs for open Web pages are displayed at the same level as the address box.

After a month or so of using IE9, I do find it less annoying than I once did, but I still find it more annoying than it should be. I liked the way Internet Explorer 8 works much better and wish I had the option to keep it.

As the poll results show, Internet Explorer 9 is not getting a ringing endorsement from TechRepublic members so far. So, what is your beef with Internet Explorer 9? And on the other end of the spectrum, what feature do you think is a plus for IE9?
