Ready or not Internet Explorer 9 is coming to SXSW

Takeaway: The final version of Internet Explorer 9 will be released at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, on March 14, 2011. Are you ready for a more beautiful web?

According to the Exploring IE blog, Microsoft representatives are attending the 2011 South by Southwest (SXSW) conference in Austin, Texas, to release the final version of Internet Explorer 9. Users will be able to download the latest version of the company’s Web browser at 9 p.m. Pacific time on Monday, March 14, 2011.

The blog goes on to hint at some of the surprises Microsoft has in store for SXSW and for attendees of the release party. It sounds like it will be a big production. It is too bad I am going to miss it — I like a good party.

As for Internet Explorer 9, I have not been overwhelmed by the new browser. Many of the “cool” new features that are supposed to be part of the “more beautiful web” slogan are features I consider cosmetic at best. And some, to be frank, are just downright annoying.

I am definitely going to look for ways to personalize my “beautiful web experience” so that it suites me more.

What do you think of Internet Explorer 9? Are you looking forward to a more beautiful web?
