How do I disable the Windows Vista sidebar?

If you do not have a powerful computer and you are running Windows Vista, you may need to save some resources. If so, disabling the sidebar and gadgets may save you some resources. Here is how you can do this quickly.

If you do not have a powerful computer and you are running Windows Vista, you may need to save some resources. If so, disabling the sidebar and gadgets may save you some resources (Figure A).

Right-click on the sidebar icon on the system tray and choose Properties as shown in Figure B.

Deselect  Start sidebar when Windows starts as shown in Figure C.

Right-click on the sidebar icon on the system tray and click exit or reboot your computer (Figure D.)
