How do I use the Compatibility tab in Windows Vista?

Do you have old programs that do not work now that you have upgraded to Windows Vista? If so, don't fret, you can take advantage of compatibility mode in Windows Vista.

Do you have old programs that do not work now that you have upgraded to Windows Vista? If so, don't fret, because you can take advantage of compatibility mode. Simply choose the application or executable in question, right-click, and choose properties. Next, select the compatibility tab (Figure A) and choose to run the program in Windows XP. If you need to go to an earlier Microsoft OS, you have that option as well, as shown in Figure B.

By experimenting with the compatibility mode, you can get all your older legacy applications to work in Windows Vista.
