Integrate system maintenance with IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO

Advanced SystemCare PRO makes it easy for the home or small office user without an IT department to maintain a computer.

IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO is a large package containing a variety of system utilities "under one roof."

Note: This review was performed based on a review copy of the software provided by the vendor.

Specifications

  • Requirements: Windows 2000 or higher, 300MHz CPU, 256MB RAM, 30MB drive space
  • Price: $12.97; free version available for noncommercial use
  • Additional Information: Product Web site

Who's it for?

Advanced SystemCare PRO makes it easy for the home or small office user without an IT department to maintain a computer. For an IT department, it can be a good maintenance system to reduce the need for technicians to fix problems.

What problems does it solve?

Advanced SystemCare rolls a number of useful utilities, such as anti-malware, system speedup optimization, and privacy protection, into one package. By putting this functionality all in one place and setting it up to run on an automatic basis, it will actually be used instead of collecting dust.

Standout features

  • Price: I don't think that anything comparable exists on the market in this price range, and there is a free version with fewer features for noncommercial use.
  • Comprehensive: Advanced SystemCare really covers all the common bases in system maintenance.
  • Ease of Use: Even if you are not computer-savvy, it is not hard to just let Advanced SystemCare handle things on its own.

What's wrong?

  • Tools are often separate: In many instances, using a tool launches another application; in some ways, it feels like a tool collection, not a single tool.
  • No central configuration: This is the kind of tool that would benefit from a centralized management console, making life easy for bigger companies with IT departments.

Competitive Products

Bottom line for business

IObit's Advanced SystemCare PRO is a nice suite of tools. Even if you do not use everything within it, for under $13 it is hard to argue with the price! For home (and other noncommercial use) there is a free version with a number of disabled features. Granted, some of the items (such as defrag and anti-malware) are already built in to Windows or there are plenty of other free options out there. But having it all in one place is really handy, especially since Advanced SystemCare makes it all too easy to automatically run them on a regular basis.

The only major complaint is the lack of centralized management. While a corporate IT department can certainly configure the application as part of their desktop deployment, with as many settings as this application has, a centralized way of managing it (or at least deploying a settings file) would be quite appreciated. That aside, Advanced SystemCare definitely warrants a look for people who need a way to access a set of useful utilities in one place and are considering automating their functions.

About 3 months ago I stumbled over the IOBit toolbox installed on a Computer I was installing a new NIC in. I played with it for awhile and ask the owner what he thought. He was impressed with it. So I downloaded just the toolbox to my XP Frankenstein at home and WOW! What a difference I ran all all the tools. Don't install the Tool Box on the computer run it off a stick! Then down load the free Advanced System Care4. I use to use 6 or so different tool to clean up a computer took awhile to get it done. Now just 1 is needed to finish and I'm done lot faster; leaving the computers running like new.

Advanced System Care Pro is my favorite utility. Be careful and try avoiding installing the Iobit toolbar. I always get a warning notice from my Anti Virus that it is potentially unsafe with a Trojan creating havoc. It crashed my Windows 7 Professional

Been using on 2 Win 7 Pro systems for a couple years. Both systems run like new all the time. Boot time pagefile defrag. Have separate C:\ OS partition with auto-defrag on. As good as Win Utilities and other much more expensive competitors.

I just finished using the FREE version of Advanced System Care4 on my Pentium III Dell Desktop. I had a rootkit vIrus that downloaded with an Adobe update and messed up several Windows components including the windows installer, After containing the virus with Microsoft Defender, I was able to run Microsoft's clean-up tool, reinstall SP 3 and a few other updates that had been compromised, I employed Advanced System Care 4 to clean out my entire system, which it did without creating any problems and even did a few 'fixes' to some windows components. The only feature it doesn't offer is a free disk space wipe as Glarysoft Pro does. I mention this as I am preparing this computer to gift and after uninstalling all personal items, I wanted to overwrite the free space several times to avoid reconstruction of any files or information. Advanced Care also removed all orphaned shortcuts and registry items plus all the other accumulated junk files. It even uninstalled and cleaned up a few program items windows did not completely remove when I uninstalled the main program. I would have to give Advanced System Care 4 an A+. Even the Defragger that comes with it works better than the one included in Win XP Pro..

After upgrading from v3.x to v.4, ASC did not keep my settings and cleared all of my custom Photoshop CS5 workspaces plus MRUs from programs that I had previously told it to exclude. V3 was great but so far I haven't been happy with v4. Also, your article says price is $13. Be sure to let people know that's a one year license only.

I love the program and the applications, but I hate all the crap that it wants to install along with it.

What is your preference - many various maintenance tools or an integrated system like Advanced SystemCare PRO?

I tend to use various maintenance tools myself. But I do keep tabs on all-in-one program suites to recommend to the less tech savvy.
