Most everyone works in a team environment, and it's generally been understood that the most effective teams are those located together. But thanks to the Internet, faster and more reliable communications, and collaborative tools, people are now coming together on teams that are no longer co-located. In fact, the whole concept of "globalization" is pushing work all over the world, with independent people and teams working anywhere and everywhere.
