Backgrounds in Web design
Source: TechRepublic Pro
In this four-part tutorial, Ryan Boudreaux walks through the process of creating a unified Web site theme. As he builds a sample layout, he demonstrates how to use Photoshop to create a background and how to convert the PSD file to display in HTML using CSS style coding. Then, he adds navigation links using CSS to define multiple clickable hotspots. To wrap up the project, he creates text styles for paragraphs, headings, anchors, and list elements. If you want to take a hands-on approach, you can download all the sample working files.
