Many computer systems can run long after they have become older and slower than is required to run the latest and greatest applications. For example, a graphic designer might need a new computer to run the latest version of an application, but the computer they are using now can be repurposed to provide a test computer for the IT department to use in testing applications or development work. You can use this policy to provide a guideline for repurposing equipment as upgrades are performed across the organization.
