Several independent surveys confirm worldwide streaming media use has grown significantly. While there are many legitimate business applications for streamed audio and video files, much streaming media content is strictly entertainment-based and serves no enterprise value.

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, consultants, temporaries, and other users, including those users affiliated with third parties whose work necessitates the use of the Internet. It helps dictate whether and how streaming media may be used in the organization.
