Thanks for pointing out the need for BOTH automated and human testing. Its too easy to run a test suite and assume since it worked everything is allright. Testing software is no more infallible than human testers. And humans wrote the test software. Overall this is a nice article, brief and concise with links to relevant sources for detailed information. A nice way to raise awareness and direct people to additional info.

Before getting into testing, specify a design approach to meet the Section 508 requirements. It is better to design in Section 508 then trying to patch the code later to fix.
As a 508 Accessibility Standards tester, the information provided here by TechRepublic definitely hits the nail on the head. The "tips" provided are appreciated and will be put to use during testing to ensure all web sites/pages are in compliance with the 508 Standards.
