Will XML transmission and management go the same way as IP transmission - and end up being managed by an appliance in the network, something like an intelligent IP router ?
It seems to me that if it requires security, consistency and reliability inperformance - and low cost - it should be managed as a network service, not an application integration effort.
I had gone through your articles in TechRepublic site on "XML meets the challenge of application integration"

Is it possible to send data from an application developed by us to a third party application used by our organization?

If so, would like to have a sample on how to do.
XML is not a cure all for application integration on that you are right, but I've met a few people who only use XML to communicate with applications. Data Adapters are a way to help along applications to communicate and coordinate with databases and SOA systems.
