Novell has been contributing to the XForms stantard and we have a XForms Technology Preview designed to provide you with a hands-on introduction to XForms.
The preview will allow you to test XForms without having to deploy them to a server. Check it out here: http://developer.novell.com/tech/xforms.html
And best of luck in your development projects!

Does anyone have any idea when browsers will support XForms? I have been working one creating all new designs in XHTML1.1 and CSS2 and ive kept an eye on xhtml2, and from what i see, xforms will have to be used instead of regular forms. It's also be nice to use a standard data markup language so i can just create different style sheets instead of having to have a new data file for mobile phones and the like. i have noticed the mozquito xforms namespace, but its seems a bit lame (http://xml.coverpages.org/spec_xhtml-fml.html) and the xforms from, i cant fidn the link, but it was an activex control you had to download for the forms to work and it only worked in IE6. I would love to use xforms right now, instead of re-writing all my pages to validate as xhtml2 with xforms. unfortunately i guess ill be waiting for support for that. so any idea when xforms support will become common? until then i really dont see much of a reason to "learn xforms to stay on top of xml development" for the simple fact that, i can rewrtie my forms in xforms, BUT, i cant see if it works or if it has the intended functionality.

I noticed the xform opening and closing form tags appear to be all together at the top, whereas HTML forms are completely enclosed by the opening and closing tags. From looking at this example, you could only have one form tag per page. Is there only need for one form tag per page with XFORMS?
I don't know but since each form element referred to the form by ID (they had those xform="nameinfo" attributes on each one), I'd assume you could associated the form elements with the specific form by using a different form ID and referencing it. It makes sense and fits into the way XML things are commonly done.
As I said though, I really don't know.

You can have several instances of the xform element. Each simply need have a different ID.
From what I remember, you can also assign one singular input field to multiple forms as well which you can't do legally in HTML forms.

Look at your example for the xforms replacement...look at how cluttered it is....
YOu say it will solve problems...what REAL problem?
I will create more problems than it will ever solve
ANd it will certain NOT save time....
You mobile devices use is purely false....mobile devices are in a state of constant flux and ZERO standards....there is a new product each month with new features....how can there be any standard in the first place?

I don't know, it's look too simple for me, very far from real life application.
Can you show me the "process.jsp" file?
How do we implement bind feature like ASP.NET?

The process.jsp should be the same as with usual forms with "firstname" and "lastname" having values sent to the server via HTTP POST.
I assume the data bindings the author was referring to are on the client-side. If you were talking about ASP.Net server-side bindings,
ASP.Net do not have native server-side controls for XForms.
