What is this world coming to? High priced gas, lousy endings to trilogys and now this? I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it!!! Rable rable rable.

Where was it anounced that the trivia was being discontinued?
There will be a 366 day calendar being released of Geek Trivia (free download I think).

Details please!!

At least this may help ... as long as it is new trivia and not a compilation of what has already been released over the last few years.

Here is the scoop
Xchief 12th Nov 2003
Inside sources tell me there will be two versions of the calendar -- a 12-month version and a weekly version. Even if they do use previous content there is almost five years worth of content in the archives. For the first two years it was a daily ? that?s more than 500 trivia questions alone. My sources also tell me the download link will show up in the discussion before it hits the newsletter. I wonder what will happen to the Geek himself?
It is an oncomming train with no brakes.

If you receive the Geek Trivia newsletter, the announcement may be found just after the advertisement at the beginning of the e-mail. It begins, "NOTICE TO SUBSCRIBERS: ..."

An early peek at the new stuff, before it appears in the 11/26 mail.

How can this be? I don't know if I'll be able to continue living without my weekly fix of useless information!! I, for one, will be extremely disappointed with the departure of this newsletter! I know some other people who subscribe to this newsletter who will be equally diaapponted as well. It's a sad, sad day for the useless knowledge world today.....

CURSES!
mnature 12th Nov 2003
on the one who made this decision. At least find another geek guru for this otherwise arid desert of a site that becomes far less clickable(all work and no play, yada yada yada) with this revolting turn of events. All the best to Jay Garmon for providing a drink of water to us thirsty geeks.
There must be an equally intelligent person that can fill he shoes. Please do not drop this newsletter.
Please don't stop sending out the Geek Trivia!

Everyone else out there who likes reading Geek Trivia, post a comment here and plead with us for Geek Trivia to continue. Together maybe we can make a difference!

I agree, KEEP THE GEEK! I enjoy reading the triva. I also get some good laughs grin when reading the butchered English in some of the posts.

I, along with perhaps many others, am very saddened that Tech Republic has decided to discontinue Geek Trivia. I have always enjoyed this newsletter and hope that if enough members protest enough, the editors will reconsider their decision and continue the pursuit of all things geekish.

WHY
alphazagadka@... 12th Nov 2003
I am in a serious business and have to deal with some very complicated situations. This is why I, and I am sure many others, find Geek Trivia such a useful feature.

PLEASE KEEP IT GOING

Come ON, Tech Republic! You kill my favorite feature on 11/26 and expect me to *give thanks* the very next day?!

I don't care what it takes. If Jay wants to come to work in full Klingon combat gear instead of regulation Starfleet issue, fine! Just keep it coming!

I also would miss the GEEK each week. My vote is to not only keep the GEEK but to expand it to other related areas and costumes.
