just wanted to throw this out there, and thought this was a good place to do it:
a very highly regarded member of the software community recently pointed out to me alphaWorks' (IBM's) new "Memory Interceptor Library." project home page: http://alphaworks.ibm.com/tech/mil
the library purports to detect leaks (though it doesn't look like it detects invalid accesses, as valgrind does) in existing, compiled C or C++ code (source code of target programs is not necessary).
i have yet to use it, but i thought it might be helpful to those interested in valgrind. if you do use it (or already have), please feel free to post your comments; i know i'd be interested in reading them, and i'm sure others would, too.
thanks,
