Ok, so this article spends most of its time with some fairly base statements about HTML documents. Mentions DOM is a good thing, then concludes by saying there is no support for it. What the heck use is this article?

although this method is supported only by the latest browser, but it does provide an alternative method in displaying results faster. of course, to cater to all browsers, you should detect browsers and provide the proper supported method.

gmail (from google) seems like using this method which u have an account and the latest browser, you will feel and see the difference in speed which i feel has the advantage for someone to upgrade his browser if his current one does not support it.

This article is ancient, where's a link to the follow-up? Hypothetical theory is great, but not without substantial practical application of it to back it up.
