Sites and software that depend on ActiveX may falter under Microsoft's new security regime.

Instead of making a lapse in security to make your programs easier to install, why don't they just instruct and educate the end-user before they have to download the plugin? ActiveX should never have gotten such leniency and .Net should be as restricted as ActiveX is now. This is a nice step toward security. I'd much rather see my users secure than having fun playing internet games.

They should cancel anything from WildTangent.
They are known for loading adware/spyware on peoples computers.
That'll get your attention.

Seriously, I saw nothing that's "broken" by the
new security warnings that I consider fit to
download / install / run anyway. Most of the
broken apps are intrusive as hell and a constant
support headache for me.

The problems rests with the inherent lack of
security that's been to norm for so long making
it entirely too easy for trash and rablash to be
installed without the user's knowledge.

Peddlers of such trash always tout the "warm and
fuzzy" aspects of the download, without the
warnings that should go along with them.
(warning; this software will install itself in
such a manner as to consume much more than it's
share of resources, will constantly "phone home"
and will invite additional intrusion in the form
of malware etc. Furthermore, it will NOT tell
you what it's doing to your computer in the
process and won't give you any options and will
be "shoved down your throat". Have a nice day)

OK, maybe I'm being a little extreme there, but
I've seen too many instances where customer's
computers are so bogged down with this junk they
can't use them anymore. Try educating a user
who's been convinced that malware is a good
thing.
