How do I block people from listening to radio stations over the Internet. It's slowing our T1 down considerably.

Firewall

If your internet connection (from the user's experience, anyway) is supposed to be limited to just web pages, have your firewall block all ports except port 8000 (http).
for some really good info on firewalling, check our www.grc.com- also a good source for security in general.

And you will see what ports are the high bandwidth users. You will also see the heavy hitting sites. You can either block the port or site, or both.

Ever since RealPlayer started handing out lists of
internet readio stations, the casual users in our
office have tuned in for the internet equivalent of
Muzak. These serve no useful purpose, but a few
listeners can make a real dent in bandwidth.

Doesn't your firewall have a feature which
will let you "tune out" the IPs/websites of the
radio stations involved? Usually, a router also
provides some sort of filtering designed to do
the same thing.
