One time a teamleader addressed me stating our project was not going as it should. I already felt the same way.
He did this in a reasonalble way (attacking the situation and not myself) and on that level (not giving me all details but enough infoto go on with) we together were able to work out some action points for the both of us. I went to the higher management for the points I coudn't tackle myself and he went to discuss certain anomalies to the team.
The problems were not solved in one day, I can assure you, but everyone kept motivated because something was happening about these troubles.
That teamleader was the right man on the right job!
