Not being able to edit frontpage built website with frontpage

I have not been able to edit my website I built 14 years ago with a frontpage tutorial. The original 3 pages has now grown to several thousand well organized pages and about 30,000-40,000 files. My server said that frontpage can only go so far and once a site gets too big, it cannot handle it. So I am at a loss as to what to do. Help!

Is there a specific error message? What OS, what version of FrontPage? What sort of server, RAM, processor??
