CNET News.com's Charles Cooper writes that Google's $1.65 billion deal for YouTube puts Mark Cuban in the position of soothsayer, because Cuban recently publicly questioned the intelligence of anyone who would buy YouTube.
Do you agree with Cuban, or is Google?s acquisition of YouTube pure genius?

As some analysts have pointed out, Google's stock valuation jumped $4 billion in the past week. Apparently over rumours anticipating this YouTube deal. In other words, they gained enough in stock valuation to pay for two YouTubes and then some. So while the price may seem rich it's really trivial for a company with Google's valuations.
Since it really isn't costing Google that much (relatively speaking), it's worth the risk given the potential upside. If they have bet correctly and YouTube turns out to be the future of online media, then there's nothing but upside for Google.

No wonder the media has earned such a bad reputation lately. You sensationalize everything. Why does he have to be a moron or a genius? Time will tell whether it is a good business decision or not. Please show some maturity Sonja.
As a long time Novell buff and CNE she hooked me into looking from the title. so i guess I'm a moron too.
