Do you think Captivate 2 is significantly improved? What does it do well, not so well, or not at all?

Pilot Online Training Solution http://www.elmspro.com/etraining/features.php is a powerful interactive multimedia software platform that uses the Internet to give students remote access to knowledge, immediate assessment of their assimilation, certification of achievement, and instructor and peer guidance as required. Students can register and learn at their own convenience, pace, and place or use Pilot Online Training Solution to supplement instructor-lead classes.

One concern about Captivate 2 is that unlike Camtasia Studio 3 and 4, Captivate 2 can't on its own record digital video, say AVI / MPG, etc.

That in itself limits the usefulness of the product, as Camtasia allows picture-in-picture or video connected to the presentation or other audio or screen recordings.

Although digital video is not the end-all concept, Captivate 2 thus suffers from the same problems that Captivate 1 did.

I have been using Captivate for about a year and I have not had a need to put a picture in picture. I don't see this as a major drawback. What are you trying to do with picture in picture.

Training developers who wish to put a video of the speaker in the training module use a picture in picture technique. I've used both Camtasia and Captivate, and have found both applications to be useful.
I've recently acquired Captivate2 and Camtasia in order to make a series of 45 minute online lectures topped and tailed and interspersed with a bit of video from me talking from various costal and rural locations near my city on the Southern Ocean coast of Victoria, Australia. I've tried to look at the Help menus (honestly)and have attended a one-hour online free training session from Adobe (at my 2am to 3am) - but it is obviously going to be hard to train myself.
In particular:
1) How Do I edit video, MP3, .ppt and bits of off air recorded video together? (This is legal in the OZ education system)
2)How do I output this as 'streaming .swf'? (is that what the training session said?) or 'continuous video' (is that what the training session said?
3) Is there a sound and vision demonstration made with Captivate 2 and Camtasia which shows me how to do this? (and if not why not?)
All the best from downunder
