In this article, Jacqueline Woods, vice president of global pricing and licensing strategy states "If you go to a restaurant and order two apples, it doesn't matter how the server delivers the apples to you," The analogy is deeply flawed. Upgrading from a single core processor to a dual-core processor is not similar to the action of upgrading from one processor to two; otherwise the performance increase would be 2x. The power of processing only increases 30-55%. This amount of processor speed gain is not much greater than going from a single-core Cerleron D325 and Cerleron D360. This certainly is not in line for the price doubling due to new Oracle licensing.
